WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. God is one Being existing in 3 persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe we are all sinners in need of God's saving grace, and salvation is through Christ alone.

OUR CHURCH HISTORY

Clearfield Bible Church can trace its beginnings to 1849. A lot has changed since then, but one thing stays the same—our commitment to Christ and the truth of God's word.

It's all about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

The Bible is clear—we have earned God's judgement (Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, 1 John 1:8). Every day we choose our own way over His. We reject Him and rebel against His word. Under His perfect righteousness and justice, we are guilty and deserving of punishment (Galatians 6:7, Romans 1:8, Isaiah 64:6)

Thankfully the message doesn't end there. From the very beginning, God had a plan of redemption through his Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9, John 3:16, Colossians 2:14, 2 Timothy 1:9). We are hopeless without Him, but through Him, we are victorious (1 Corinthians 15:55-57, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Our only requirement is to repent of our sins and accept His free gift (Romans 10:13, Ephesians 2:8-9). There are no other prerequisites or qualifications. Salvation is available to everyone who believes (John 1:12, 1 John 1:9, Hebrews 11:6). It is through Christ alone (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

Once we accept this free gift, our desire is to serve Him in love and gratitude (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Samuel 12:24, Ephesians 2:10, Romans 6:4). We want to live in a way that is pleasing to God and points others to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 5:13-18, Ephesians 4:1, Colossians 3:1-17)

In the end, it is all about knowing, loving, and serving Jesus. God's incredible love for us provided the solution to our big problem of sin. When we follow His plan of salvation and take hold of the secure Hope we have in Christ, the things of this earth don't seem so important anymore (Mark 8:36, 1 John 2:17, 1 John 5:5, Romans 11:36)
